- SOFTWARE UPDATE NOTES:
-
- This version of the DaynaTALK driver corrects the following problems.
-
- 1. Macintosh IIci: Versions of DaynaTALK previous to this would neither install
- nor run with the Macintosh IIci. This version now runs with all released
- Macintosh computers.
-
- 2. LaserWriter and Farallon StarController: With previous versions of DaynaTALK
- an SE was unable to communicate with a LaserWriter NT connected to another
- branch of a network via a Farallon StarController. The effect of this was
- extremely slow printing. This has been corrected.
-
- 3. 68030 Macintosh and Hayes Interbridge: Some 68030 machines equipped with
- DaynaTALK would not function properly with a Hayes Interbridge. This has been
- corrected.
-
- UNRESOLVED PROBLEMS:
-
- 1. Kinetics FastPath Model 2 does not conform to AppleTalk electrical
- specifications for signal strength and may not work properly with DaynaTALK.
- You may encounter problems with FastPath 2 and DaynaTALK particularly on larger
- networks. A symptom of the problem is that you are not able to see the devices
- in zones that are defined by FastPath 2. We are working with Kinetics on a
- resolution. Contact Dayna Customer Service at (801) 972-2000 for an update on
- this problem.
-
- 2. EasyNet is a LocalTalk compatible cabling system offered by Nuvotech, Inc.
- This product does not work properly with DaynaTALK. EasyNet is a very old
- product and has been discontinued by Nuvotech. If you are experiencing
- compatibility problems with EasyNet and DaynaTALK (or any other products),
- contact Nuvotech's Technical Support at (415) 331-7815 and ask for Christian.
